Time for day two and this time for a more recent discovery of mine. To be honest I kinda overlooked His Majesty first as there are tonnes of medieval fantasy. But after seeing this video by 11dragonkid I knew I had to atleast make a character. The game makes such cool changes to the medieval fantasy genre where as the video decribes it more like Dungeon Meshi where the dunegoen survival and prepping is more of a focal point and does such interesting ways of focusing on that.
Another thing I also like is how they adapded the worldbuilding of various creatures from fantasy, take for example orcs;
Orcs and "evil races" in fantasy can be a bit contentious when it comes to how they are represented, personally I like them when they're not necesarily evil but still different enough to humans where conflict is still possible but not always to assumed to be pure evil.
His Majesty strikes a pretty good balance with that where sure orcs are often raiders and can be quite violent, but they are well read, enjoy festevitites and have civilizatn just like us and can actually be more moral in some aspects (Opposing slavery and strong dislike of deception). It also makes for funny situations where in an orks mind robbing from a person is considered okay but stealing is a great offence, so if an orc breaks and enters the moral thing to do for them is to shout "I'm robbing you".
For Tostig himelf I imagined a character that would be considered a dumb brute by his human colleuges but a cowardly nerd by his fellow orcs, someone perfect for the adventuring life I reckon.
